SSC GPA Calculator
Free SSC GPA calculator for Bangladesh. Enter your subject marks to get your SSC GPA on the 5.00 scale, the grade for each subject, your fourth subject bonus and your pass or fail status, with every step of the calculation shown.
What Is the SSC GPA Calculator?
The SSC GPA calculator works out your Secondary School Certificate GPA in Bangladesh from your subject marks. It converts each subject’s total into a letter grade and grade point, applies the fourth subject bonus, checks for failures and shows the final GPA on the 5.00 scale.
SSC results are reported as GPA, not as a university-style CGPA. After SSC, use the HSC Result Calculator for your college results, the CGPA Calculator once you reach university, or the Percentage Converter when a form asks for a percentage.
How to Use This SSC GPA Calculator
Select Your Group
Choose Science, Business Studies or Humanities. The subject list changes to match your group. Science counts 9 main subjects; Business Studies and Humanities count 10.
Enter Total Marks for Each Subject
Type the combined total for each subject and keep the maximum shown on your marksheet: 200 for Bangla and English (both papers together), 50 for ICT and 100 for most other subjects.
Set Your Fourth Subject
Pick your fourth subject and enter its marks, or tick the box if you do not have one. Only grade points above 2.00 count as bonus.
Mark Any Failed Component
If your marksheet shows a failed paper, MCQ, theory or practical component, tick the failure box for that subject. Totals alone cannot show this.
Read Your GPA and Breakdown
Your final GPA, pass or fail status, main subject GPA and fourth subject bonus appear in the result card, with every calculation step below it.
How SSC GPA Is Calculated
Add the grade points of your main subjects, add the fourth subject bonus, then divide by the number of main subjects. Science has 9 main subjects; Business Studies and Humanities have 10. The final GPA is capped at 5.00.
Bangla’s two papers form one subject, and so do English’s. This calculator divides total marks by the selected maximum to find the percentage, then applies fixed grade bands. It never rounds a percentage up to the next grade.
How the Fourth Subject Works
Only grade points above 2.00 contribute: bonus = max(0, fourth subject GP − 2.00). An A+ adds 3.00, A adds 2.00, A− adds 1.50 and B adds 1.00. C, D and F add zero. These are extra points in the total, not a direct increase of the same size in your GPA, and the fourth subject is never part of the divisor.
SSC Subjects Counted for Each Group
This calculator follows the standard general-education subject structure. Your registered subjects decide what applies to you, so confirm them against your registration card.
| Group | Main subjects (divisor) | Subjects counted | Fourth subject options |
|---|---|---|---|
| Science | 9 | Bangla, English, Mathematics, Religion, Bangladesh and Global Studies, ICT, Physics, Chemistry, plus Biology or Higher Mathematics | Higher Mathematics or Biology (whichever is not a main subject), Agriculture Studies, Home Science |
| Business Studies | 10 | Bangla, English, Mathematics, Religion, Bangladesh and Global Studies, ICT, General Science, Accounting, Finance and Banking, Business Entrepreneurship | Agriculture Studies, Home Science |
| Humanities | 10 | Bangla, English, Mathematics, Religion, Bangladesh and Global Studies, ICT, General Science, plus three of Geography, History, Civics or Economics | Agriculture Studies, Home Science, or the remaining Geography, History, Civics or Economics subject |
If your registration differs, pick the closest group and adjust the subjects. The divisor is always the number of main subjects shown in the result card.
SSC Grading System
These marks apply to a 100-mark subject. For a 200-mark subject, use the equivalent percentage: A+ starts at 160. For a 50-mark subject such as ICT, A+ starts at 40.
| Marks / 100 | Grade | Grade point |
|---|---|---|
| 80–100 | A+ | 5.00 |
| 70–79 | A | 4.00 |
| 60–69 | A− | 3.50 |
| 50–59 | B | 3.00 |
| 40–49 | C | 2.00 |
| 33–39 | D | 1.00 |
| 0–32 | F | 0.00 |
For fractional percentages from combined totals, each band ends just below the next threshold: 79.5% is A, not A+.
SSC GPA Calculation Example
Suppose a Science student has A+ in six of the nine main subjects and A in the other three, and earns A+ in the fourth subject.
A Humanities student with 10 main subjects, a main grade point total of 41.00 and an A− in the fourth subject gets a bonus of 1.50. The GPA is (41.00 + 1.50) ÷ 10 = 4.25.
Select Try an example in the calculator to see the first case with subject marks. It is an illustration, not a student’s official result.
Failing a Subject, GPA 5 and Golden A+
An F in any main subject means the overall result is Fail, even if the other grade points would give a high average. The calculator names the failed subjects and withholds the final numerical GPA.
An F in the fourth subject adds no bonus. It does not cause an overall failure when all main subjects pass. Do not use a high combined total to override a known component failure.
GPA 5.00 can be reached with the fourth subject bonus even when some main subjects have an A. “Golden A+” is an informal term for A+ in every subject, including the fourth subject. It is not a separate grade calculated here.
Frequently Asked Questions
Add the grade points of your main subjects, add the fourth subject bonus, divide by the number of main subjects and cap the result at 5.00. Science counts 9 main subjects; Business Studies and Humanities count 10. A failure in any main subject overrides the numerical calculation.
This calculator counts 9 main subjects for Science and 10 for Business Studies and Humanities, with Bangla and English each counted once as combined two-paper subjects. The fourth subject is never part of the divisor.
It adds the portion of its grade point above 2.00 to your main grade point total. An A+ gives a bonus of 3.00, A gives 2.00, A− gives 1.50 and B gives 1.00. C, D and F add nothing.
No. The divisor stays at the number of main subjects. The fourth subject contributes a bonus instead of counting as an extra main subject.
Your overall result is Fail. Other grades and the fourth subject bonus cannot cancel that failure. The calculator names the failed subject and withholds the final GPA.
A+ starts at 80%, which is 80 out of 100, 160 out of 200 or 40 out of 50, subject to the pass requirements of each paper or component.
Yes. Enter the combined total of the 1st and 2nd papers out of 200. Each of the two subjects gives one grade point, and each paper must still be passed.
On the standard SSC marksheet ICT is out of 50 while most other subjects are out of 100. The calculator lets you choose 50, 100 or 200 for each subject so you can match your own marksheet.
Yes. Tick the option for no fourth subject and the calculator uses the main subjects only, with a bonus of 0.00.
No. Even when the formula produces a higher number, the reported GPA is capped at 5.00.
No. A fourth subject bonus can produce GPA 5.00 even when some main subjects are below A+. Golden A+ is the informal term for A+ in every subject.
No. It estimates your GPA using the grading and fourth-subject rules explained on this page. It does not check every examination-year exception or component pass threshold. Use your education board’s published result for official purposes.
